It's been busy busy here at Willow HQ! So busy that I seem to have neglected this blog, oops...
We finally booked the wedding venue - the gorgeous Leith Theatre that I've mentioned previously. We didn't bother to look anywhere else. When you know something is right, you just know, y'know?! I had my first dress appointment too, with the amazing Rowanjoy. We're going for something completely custom (WITH A FREAKING CAPE) but I still got to try one of her beautiful sample dresses on. It was a completely different experience to when I took a trip to a random bridal shop a few months ago. Rowan made me feel so at ease (it helps that I already knew her, but she is super lovely!) and really helped me streamline all my ideas (capes! fringing! glitter! flowers!) into something that will hopefully look beautiful.
I also did my first market! It was with work, rather than my jewellery, but it was super fun and great experience. I work at Godiva, a local designer/vintage hybrid boutique, and we took part in the Greater Grassmarket's Vintage Weekend. I worked the Sunday on my own, and it was kind of frustrating at first because it was SO windy. I mean, rails blowing over and clothes blowing off their hangers windy. The poor girls in the stall opposite were only selling silk scarves - they had to tape them down! It was pretty crazy. But everyone was really friendly and we sold a tonne of stuff. The entertainment was fun too - a guy played a saw(?!), there was a hula hooping girl and some can can dancers. I'm in the process of getting insurance so I can book in to do another market selling my jewellery!
May's looking to be a busy month too. Next weekend we're taking my little sister down to London. I'd promised to take her for her Christmas present, but it's taken longer than expected to plan it all out - but hopefully it will be worth it! We've booked into a wee apartment and have tickets to see Matilda on the Saturday evening, but no other plans as yet. We'll leave it up to her. Whatever 14 year old girls like doing these days - hopefully not too much time in that crazy massive Primark! We've also got to choose a wedding photographer and a celebrant - exciting times.
